BARRY UNIVERSITY • SCHOOL OF HUMAN PERFORMANCE AND LEISURE SCIENCES •
FALL 2013
The Semi-Annual “Careers in Sport
Night”, hosted by the School of
Human Performance and Leisure
Sciences, once again showcased
some of the premier sport op-
portunities in South Florida. The
event has become a growing Mar-
ketplace for job recruiters in the
South Florida Sport Industry and
this edition was another major suc-
cess, as Sport Organizations from
South Florida congregated on cam-
pus to present career opportuni-
ties for Barry University students.
Organizations, including the Miami
Dolphins, Miami Marlins, Miami-
Dade Parks and Recreation, and over
one dozen other sport companies,
showcased their career opportuni-
ties, connected with students, and ac-
cepted resumes. The event was well
attended, as over 150 students, facul-
ty, and staff members turned out for
what has become an important addi-
tion to the HPLS academic program.
Student sport majors were able to
network with potential employ-
ers, meet Barry alumni in the field,
and learn about the opportuni-
ties available in the Sport Industry.
As the growing Sport Industry
job market becomes more com-
petitive, Barry University remains
a leader in providing opportu-
nity for Sport Industry careers.
